The Mexican Capital Has Approved A Plastic Ban

Mexico City will ban the use and distribution of single-use plastic bags, straws and tableware from 2020, the Mexican city council has approved in a 51-vote vote with one abstention.

In addition, the Mexican city council will discuss proposals for fiscal measures to support plastics companies to shift to biodegradable products and promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional enterprises.

In addition to Mexico, the Mexican states of nuevo Leon and hidalgo will also launch restrictions on the sale and use of plastic products.
