Japan plans to spend 5 billion yen a year to support the promotion of bioplastics in the next fiscal quarter

The use of bioplastics reduces the consumption of oil and also reduces the amount of waste to be incinerated because they are easily decomposed by underground microorganisms. To solve this problem, the Japanese Ministry of Health plans to fund companies and universities to develop bio-plastics instead of plastic packaging technology, and actively increase and improve facilities to increase the production capacity of bio-plastics and products. The Ministry of Health plans 5 billion yen ($45 million) in subsidies for these projects in the budget for the next fiscal year, mainly for research on methods for collecting and processing used bioplastic products.
